Winner of over 35 cosmetic awards, outperforming even non-organic brands; INIKA has smashed the myth that natural make-up has to compromise on performance or fashion. Certified organic, vegan, halal, and cruelty-free.”

I’d recently heard of INIKA through my beautiful pal Hannah and I’d been keen to try it ever since. So, naturally when I was sent some products to try out.. I lost my shit and I can report that I still haven’t found it (aka.. I really liked EVERYTHING)

So what was I sent?

Certified Organic Eyeliner (Black Caviar) £13.50

I’d like to start by talking about how much I liked the initial look of this pencil. I know what you’re thinking.. A pencil’s a pencil Leila, get it together. HOWEVER, I’m a huge sucker for black and gold and it’s not like a shiny gold lid, it’s matt gold… even better. The product itself is slightly more expensive than high street prices, but you definitely get what you pay for. I put this on before work and it was still on my eyes by the end of the day. Now I stress that it was still on my eyes because my eyeliner has a habit of sneaking down onto my under-eye area and hanging out there until someone points it out. A hefty face full of steam from the dishwasher every 15 minutes or so usually sees off whatever eye product I have on but this baby stayed put all day. Excellent.

Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid £29.50

My initial concern after reading the word ACID in the title soon melted away (much like I thought my face would) when I did a little research..

Hyaluronic Acid seems to be the latest must have for anti-ageing;

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid

Skin:  Almost half of the body’s HA is located in the collagen of skin and it is logical that HA plays a vital role here.  Hyaluronic acid helps to retain over a 1000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it an excellent moisturizer.  In fact, no other biological substance can retain as much water as HA resulting in increased smoothness, softening and decreased wrinkles.  Equally important is its ability to remove waste matter from cells including those where there is little blood circulation.

Much like the eye-liner, I was thoroughly impressed at how well this foundation stayed on. As a baker, I’m constantly covering myself in flour and cocoa powder only to rub it off with a wet tea-towel and yet, my makeup removing pad was still covered in foundation at the end of the day. Either I ware far too much or this product really lasts. I’d like to think the latter. It has quite a thick consistency and goes on beautifully with a damp beauty blender leaving a really flawless finish to the skin.

Again, much more expensive than most high-street brands but (sadly) most high street brands aren’t vegan, cruelty free, organic, halal and alcohol free. The older (and wiser) I get, the more I’m starting to think about what I’m actually putting on my face and how it sinks in throughout the day. I’m happy to say that I feel confident that this product is not only GOOD for my skin, but totally worth the money. After all, theres no point in wearing heaps of beautiful foundation if you look like a haggard old cow under it is there? (lol)

All Natural Mineral Blusher Puff Pot – Rosy Glow £17.00

I think this is my favourite of all the products I was sent. You simply take off the lid (which very helpfully has a teeny tiny mirror built in) and puff it onto the apples of your cheeks for a really shimmery pink glow. You have to be a bit careful that you don’t go overboard with the dabbing as you don’t have the benefit of seeing how much product is on the puffer like you would with a standard brush but after a few days of using it, I’d got the hang of it. It stays on all day and goes from a gentle pink blush in a dimly lit room to an amazing shimmer in the sunlight. 10/10 stuff.

Mineral Eyeshadows  £14.50

I was send two of these little puppies and luckily they were two of my favourite colours to wear on my eyes. Gunmetal Grey and Pink Fetsh.

Both colours are super shimmery but I have to say I ended up using the pink as a highlight for my cheeks as it has a super pretty gold afterglow to it. I’m a huge fan of a multi-purpose products.. whether that was the intention of the maker or not. I wore the grey on my eyes and I found it was super pigmented so a little really goes a long way with these.

Whether they’ll replace the special section in my heart for the Barry M. Dazzle Dusts remains to be seen but I’m certainly enjoying them in the mean time!

Mineral Illuminator Powder £17.00

This illuminating loose powder has a lovely pale pink glow to it. As I had already used the Pink Fetish eyeshadow to highlight, I just decided to sweep it across my collar bone and chest. I wouldn’t normally wear any makeup on my chest as a breakout there could be a disaster but this product is light enough to wear without feeling clammy and just gave my skin a really pretty shimmer.

So to summarise I think this is definitely a brand for people who are willing to spend a little more on products that they know will go the extra mile for them. A company with ethics like this are always going to win in my books and in my humble opinion they really have proved that all natural makeup does not mean compromising in any way.

EVOLVE ORGANIC BEAUTY

Last week I was asked by the lovely team at Chalk PR if I’d like to sample some products from a few of their clients.

Evolve Beauty is completely Vegan and Cruelty Free and only uses  natural and organic ingredients. Based in Hertfordshire the team only make small batches of their superfood packed products at a time to ensure the highest level of freshness.

I can’t even tell you how stoked I am to delve into this stuff (the Satin Leg Gloss in particular because my pins haven’t seen the light of day for about 7 months. I might even shave my legs for the occasion) (JK I obviously shave my legs.. sometimes..)

I was a super lucky bean and was sent the larger sizes of everything but they also have half portions of everything for half the price too!

Daily Renew Facial Cream (60ml £24.00)

I’ve been REALLY enjoying this face cream. It’s super thick so a little really does go a long way. I’m usually a huge advocate of using only Coconut Oil to moisturise with but I’m really happy know this is all organic and I can tell it’s doing kind stuff to my face. I’ve been using it in the morning about 1/2 an hour before I do my make up and I’ve noticed how smoothly my foundation goes on when I’ve used it too. I swear my face feels a little tighter too, in a good way though, not like a new bra that digs in under the ribs. Oh and it smells like a summer holiday so that really sealed the deal for me. I think you could make the smaller pot last for ages as it’s such a good quality product so if you’re not keen on breaking the bank this one might be your guy http://www.evolvebeauty.co.uk/products/daily-renew-facial-cream-30ml

Radiant Glow Mask (60ml £18.00)

The look of confusion on my dogs face when I came out wearing this dark brown face mask might be my favourite thing about it! It’s definitely not one for taking cute insta snaps with but the product itself (the important part…pay attention) is beautiful. It’s a little tricky to get an even coverage because it’s quite oil heavy but it’s left my skin SO soft! With raw cacao and coconut as the base, not only is it jam packed with anti-oxidants but it’s also one of the best smelling face masks I’ve ever used. (yes I tried to eat some, no you probably shouldn’t)

Satin Leg Gloss (100ml £20.00)

I trialled this guy on my arms as it’s been raining the last few days in Brighton and I was so impressed. It comes out like liquid gold (not the brand of poppers, calm down) so I was a bit unsure of how it would translate onto the skin but it rubs into a gentle shimmer which looks really pretty when it catches the light. It kept my gangly arms moisturised most of the day and the smell is really gorgeous. Absolutely can’t wait to prance about on the beach slathered in this stuff.

Tropical Blossom Body Butter (120ml £16.00)

This isn’t your average body butter. It’s much thicker in consistency to most brands I can think of and it almost seems to melt in your hand. Imagine if a bar of soap and a tub of coconut oil did the nasty and had a baby, that’s the feel I get from it. I put this on as soon as I got out of the shower and dove into my pjs like a silky smooth dolphin.

Tropical Blossom Body Polish (180ml £20.00)

This was the final product I tried and again was hit immediately by the stunning smell. You put it onto dry skin and gently massage any weird bits of dead skin away and when you’re done you wash it off with warm water and it kind of turns into milk. Leaving your skin super soft and smelling like a tropical princess. I’m sold.
